I am an artist, writer and musician. I do these mostly as a hobby, occasionally as work. I teach classes of various sorts for a subsidiary of Mesa Community College. I study Spanish. I have studied Esperanto and have translated a number of stories, poems and songs into Esperanto. I am a devotee of the writer James Joyce; his Ulysses in particular.

I like classical music and Jazz. My piano playing is of the cool school, though I am not very proficient. I frequently attend concerts at the nearby University.

I like staying at home. I do a lot on the computer including artwork and writing. I have written many articles for eZines and expect to continue doing that. I am a so-called elder for Elder Wisdom Circle which is an online service where anyone can write in with a problem and one of the elders answers it. I have answered over a thousand letters.

My semi-Siamese (Snowshoe, so they tell me), named Cherokee, sits on the counter and watches as I work on the computer. If I go to play the piano (electronic) she comes over there to listen.

I act as moderator or facilitator for a group that gets together weekly for Spanish study. We make progress, but slowly. One day I would like to learn French.

After exchanging e-mails for awhile, I probably would suggest that we meet at the local art museum so we could stroll together and chat while taking in the art displays. If we seem to like each other's company, I would probably suggest a concert next.
