OK, will put down what comes to mind, and try to answer the typical questions at the same time.

That will make this longer; but should save us both some time, and will give you an insight into this guy you're reading about.

I tend to have relationships that last a long time. I am not sure why that came up as the first thing, but it did -- probably because it is what I am looking for.

Friendship and companshionship that will hopefully result in our both finding a special, fun-to-be-with partner, to spend the rest of our lives with.

I am comfortable with giving and keeping commitments, and would appreciate the same in return.

I've been told that loyalty, honesty, intelligence, a good sense of humor, good conversation skills, and being a good listener, are some of my stronger attributes.

I usually achieve what I set out to do, am laid back, and self-confident. I am proud of my accomplishments, and have not captained a Titanic yet. However, tomorrow is another day, and I am human.

I am a pilot and flying has taught me self reliance, and that I can deal with what must be dealt with, as it comes up.

This is difficult to explain, but I know it is now a part of me. In looking back on my experience as a pilot ( most pilots run into a few "hairy situations" at one time or another ) it gives me an understanding as to how I react under periods of stress and danger.

While I show respect to others, and appreciate theirs in return; I also know that respect MUST be earned!

Honor, honesty, keeping one's word, and good manners are important to me. Doing things the "right way" is usually the right way -- even though it may not be the easiest way!

I try NOT to do unto others -- as they would NOT want to be done unto them.

I know that strong relationships must be worked at by both parties, and am willing to do my part, and have no problem with going the extra mile.

I saw a greeting card once that referred to "The gentle chains of love..."

....that phrase, probably comes as close as I can think of, as to why a relationship SHOULD be able to last forever! For love to last, it MUST be nurtured with gentle caring on an on-going basis.

I know that putting a loving relationship on some sort of balancing scale, simply does not work, and is dangerous to the relationship. Nor, does analysis of who loves the other "...More" or "...Better," EVER result in anything worth while.

I am looking for someone to share the good times with, as well as the not-so-good. Someone to laugh with. A side-kick to have good conversation and cuddle with while watching TV. A best friend to share quite moments, good humor, trying new things, and learning about things THEY like to do. A person that is simply nice to be around and honest -- a confidant you can share knowing smiles with across the room.

A partnership where, if one of us says "I missed you today," the other knows without question, that they really mean it...

Martial Arts: I've have the good fortune to have a long-time friend that is a Grand Master, and 8th Degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do. Over the years he has taught me, and two of my daughters, things worth knowing and practicing in life.

Ethnicity: 50% French... the rest being English, Irish, German, Welsh and Dutch. My dad was born in Canada, and that is where the French side comes from. My earliest French ancestor to reach this continent, came to New France in the 1600's and was a French Marine. My sister found a book on our family genealogy by a Doctor in NY from the early 1900's. That sparked my interest in genealogy. It is hard to not get the sense of how short the time is that we spend on this planet from genealogy.

Favorite Things: I enjoy traveling and have been to British Columbia, Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec, Bermuda, Nassau, St. Thomas, Puerto Rico and most of the States, but not Alaska and Hawaii. Lots of other typical interests...

Reading - There is always a stack of books on the night stand. I enjoy Robert A. Heinlein (the Grand Master of science fiction) and other authors as well -- but anything with "words in a row" is OK.

This will probably not be the best profile you will ever see, but I respectfully submit that getting to know each other, is much more important than the "words in a row" in a profile.
