Flowers for no reason at all. Spontaneous road trips. Breakfast in bed. Sunday brunch after the gym. Calling when I say I will. Unafraid to answer my cellphone at the supermarket and whisper, "Sure babe, I have been waiting in line for five minutes and was just about to check out, but I'll go grab you some tampons and a nail file."
The book
"Sweet Potato Queens' Field Guide to Men" says there are five categories of men a woman must have in her life:
- one to talk to,
- one to dance with,
- one who can pay for things,
- one to have great sex with, and...
- one who can fix things.
I do all five. Here's the deal though, there's a catch! I've thought about it long and hard and this is my list of "musts":
- You must be willing to pick yourself apart and shed your baggage through personal growth. I've done it, and you can too :-). To truly understand relationships, you can read "Addicted to Love," take a weekend workshop, ask old wise people, or at the very least, rent "He's Just Not That Into You." It's true!
- You must be independent--I don't want you agreeing with me all the time, because that's no fun.
- You must like and be able to travel, because I travel the world for work- Asia, Germany, Brasil & Hawaii all since Jan.
- You must be a good communicator. The answer to, "What's wrong, baby?" when you have a sad face and running mascara is not, "Oh...nothing."
...Everything else is negotiable! :-)

It's the smallest effort and intention that makes the biggest difference. :-)
