I’ll pretend that some people actually read this. I think the majority, including myself (why should I be special) look at the profile pictures, pass judgment purely on what we see then maybe peruse this box. A bit superficial and shallow I know (I feel like such an a-hole). But we are visual creatures and it’s in our nature to behave this way, after all who doesn’t like to look at pretty things, a late evening sky line, an animal in the wild (never at a zoo), a pretty face smiling back at us from across a crowded room?

I have a theory that I’ve developed over time and continue to work on as I get older. The older we get and remain single, the less likely we are to find a partner, because we are less likely to compromise. We create an image of the perfect partner in our minds eye, we begin to believe it’s what we deserve, this perfect being, to make us happy and we will not settle for anything less. So we find fault in anyone we meet, because no one will ever match that image we hold so dear in our minds. And time keeps ticking on and the years begin to dissolve one into the other…

I figured out who I am and learned to be happy with myself. I enjoy my job and make a good amount of money(trivial) doing it. I have a good group of friends and family, whom I would walk through fire to protect. I enjoy my life, I like the person that I am, I like the dreams I still aspire to reach. All the while trying to remain open minded, less I let that ultimate dream pass by un-noticed.
